JAKARTA (9 November 2023) – It is a rare opportunity to play in the FIFA Under-17 World Cup 2023, but Indonesia head coach Bima Sakti does not want his players to be burdened by expectations.
The Indonesian U17 team will be making their debut in the FIFA U17 World Cup 2023 tomorrow when they take on Ecuador in their opening game of Group A at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium in Surabaya.
“What is certain is that I don’t want to burden the players too much, even though they realised that this is a rare opportunity,” said Bima.
The former Indonesian national captain said he wants his players to play freely and does not want to burden his team with high targets.
“They already know their duties and responsibilities. They are always focussed in every match and ready to give their best,” added Bima.
After Ecuador, Indonesia will play Panama on 13 November 2023 and then Morocco three days later.
