AYER KEROH (30 March 2016) – The Malaysian national team under Datuk Ong Kim Swee puts up an insipid performance at the Stadium Hang Jebat last night as they acquiesced to a drab scoreless draw against Macau.
Following the decision to field a handful of unknowns alongside several ageing professionals, the Malaysian national side lacked cohesion and direction as Macau’s string of part-timer’s dedication paid off in the end.
The attendance of close to 20,000 fans failed to ignite the Malaysians as Kim Swee was later struggling to find the right words for what happened on the night he would rather soon forget.
“I can’t accept this result,” said Kim Swee. “It is unacceptable to the players and also the fans.
“We did most things right. We created chances as we pushed forward but the frontline is still not sharp enough. So we have to go back and improve on this area so as to make sure that we are better in the next outing.”
Macau goalkeeper Ho Man Fai was clearly the best player on the night as he made several crucial saves to deny the Malaysians.
