JAKARTA (7 March, 2008) – The debut date for the Indonesia Under-16 squad in the Uruguayan Quinta Division (Under-17 League of Uruguay) has been pushed back to a week later.
The youth squad was initially slated to make their maiden league appearance tomorrow, 8 March 2008 but due to technical hitches has forced the change in date. They will begin their campaign on 15 March 2008 instead. The Uruguay FA (AUF) felt that several playing fields were still not up to specifications and a postponement was necessary. “Our playing field has been great where it is still playable even though it has been raining over the last few weeks,” said Roberto Regis Milano, an official attached with the Indonesian team. Apart from training alone, the Indonesian squad has also seen an improvement to their dietary programme so as to ensure a higher aerobic capability as they look to enhance their presence in the league further. And under head coach Cesar Payovich, the players are also being taught modern technical and tactical methodology which in time will be of value as the players progress into adulthood. |
