HANOI (24 June 2021) – The decision on whether the 31st edition of the SEA Games will be held this year or otherwise will be known in two weeks.
This was the decision that was reached following a virtual meeting between all member countries with the Organizing Committee of the Vietnam 2021 SEA Games asking for another two weeks for the final decision.
The next meeting where the final decision will be announced will be on 8 July 2021.
Earlier this month, eight of the 11 SEA Games Federation (SEAGF) countries objected to the Vietnam 2021 SEA Games Organizing Committee’s proposal to postpone the Games to next year following an increase in COVID-19 cases.
