HANOI (7 July 2009) – With Da Nang pulling away for a 12 point lead at the top of the V-League, Song Lam Nghe An moved into second after crushing Hoang Anh Gia Lai 2-0 at the Vinh Stadium.
At the Chi Lang Stadium, leaders Da Nang defeated Thanh Hoa 2-1 with goals coming off. In the meantime, Song Lam Nghe An had two second half goals from Van Quyen and Din Akame to thank for their win over Hoang Anh Gia Lai following a first-half stalemate. The win over Hoang Anh Gia Lai has allowed Song Lam Nghe An to move into second at the table with 30 points from 19 matches. In the other matches, Nam Dinh demolished Military Zone Four 6-1 at the Thien Truong Stadium as Khanh Hoa trounced The Cong 3-0 and T & T Hanoi demolished Ho Chi Minh City 5-1.
