HANOI (21 Feb 2012) – Current Vietnam’s Super League 2012 leaders Hanoi T&T fell to their first defeat of the season when former champions SHB Da Nang outplayed them 2-0 at the Chi Lang Stadium.
Following the first-half deadlock, Da Nang then carved the lead through Nicolche Klechkaroski in the 60th minute before Gaston Merlo then doubled it in the 78th minutes. While the win allowed Da Nang to move up to third in the standings, the defeat for Hanoi T&T failed to dislodge them from the top spot.
After the sixth match day of the Vietnam Super League, Hanoi T&T have garnered 13 points from four wins, one draw and one loss.
Saigon FC are the only unbeaten team in the league where their 1-1 draw against Thanh Hoa FC this week ensured their place on second at the table from three wins and three draws.
Elsewhere, Vicem Hai Phong scored their first win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Khatoco Khanh Hoa at the Lach Tray Stadium as defending champions Song Lam Nghe An beat Hoang AnhGia Lai 2-0.
Hanoi came from behind to defeat Dong Thap 2-1 with three-time Golden Ball winner Le Cong Vinh scoring his first goal of the season. Former champions Becamex Binh Duong edged Navibank Saigon 1-0 as Ninh Binh battled to a scoreless draw against Kien Giang.
