HANOI (April 4, 2007) – Da Nang took the top spot in the V-League after beating previous leader Binh Duong 3-1 at home to chalk up their third victory in five matches.
Da Nang was the first to score with Thanh Thang finding the back of the net in the 19 minute before Almeida added the second in the 33 minute. Binh Duong fought back through Philani in the 36 minute for them to trail 2-1 at the break. But it soon turned out to be not good enough for a revival when Alemida scored his second and Da Nang’s third just two minutes after the restart for the final scoreline. In Pleiku, Hoang Anh Gia Lai missed a golden opportunity to go top of the table when they conceded a 3-0 home defeat to Khatoco Khanh Hoa. Despite playing with imports like Datsakorn Thonglao, Dusit Chalermsem and Yaw Preko, the homesters failed to prevent the onslaught when they allowed Nouhnoum Moutawakil (58 and 79) and Thien Hao (77) to score for the visitors. Thai star Thonglao was unlucky not to score his first goal in the V-League since joining them at the start of the season when his free kick came off the upright. Things seem to only get worst for defending champions Dong Tam Long An when they conceded their second consecutive defeat with a 1-0 loss to Halida Thanh Hoa. Rodgers’s early third minute strike was the only goal of the match. RESULTS V-LEAGUE, MATCH DAY FIVE Phu My Nam Dinh 0-1 HN.ACB Courtesy of Vietnam Football Federation N0 Team Pld W D L Pts GD |
