YANGON (17 Sept 2014) – The 2-1 win over Naypyitaw FC on the weekend was crucial for Yadanarbon as they look to secure their first ever Myanmar National League (MNL) crown this season.
With two more matches to play for to the end of the season, the Mandalay-based team made sure of the points off goals from Yan Paing early in the fifth minute before top scorer Fonseca added the second goal in the 73rd minute.
Nay Zaw Aung pulled a goal back for Naypyitaw nine minutes to the end but it was too late to change the inevitable.
With the full points, Yadanarbon have picked up 47 points from 20 matches played – four points ahead of second-placed and defending champions Yangon United.
Elsewhere, Magwe FC edged GFA 1-0 with the only goal of the game coming off Mansa in the 43rd minute. Manaw Myay edged Chin United 2-1 as Ayeyawady United beat Zwekapin United 3-2.
