PHNOM PENH (14 July 2014) – The Metfone Cambodia League 2014 crown is as good as Phnom Penh Crown’s following another weekend in which their nearest challengers fell by the wayside and fail to close in on the runaway leaders.
Crown, after 20 matches, have amassed 51 points and with just two more matches to play for are almost certain to pick up their fifth Cambodian crown in their history.
Second-placed Boueng Ket Rubber Field were on the winning side when they thrashed Kirivong Sok Sen Chey FC 3-0 off a double from captain Khoun Laboravy (25th and 36th minute) and another from Sok Pheng in the 42nd minute.
But the full points failed to make changes at the top of the standings as Boueng Ket Rubber Field could only muster 44 points from the same 20 matches played.
With third-placed Naga Corp FC losing the plot when they were held to a scoreless draw by National Police, the fight is as good as over.
