SINGAPORE (25 April 2013) – Sport Club Corinthians Paulista from Brazil and PSV from Netherlands have been announced as among the invited teams that will take part in this year’s 25th Lion City Cup slated for 8-16 June at the Jalan Besar Stadium. The championship is for Under-16 teams.
The other invited teams are Eintracht Frankfurt e.V (Germany) and Arsenal (England).
“Singaporeans from all walks of life came out in full force to support our Cubs last June and we are sure that the love affair will continue with top youth football teams in action at this year’s meet,” said Zainudin Nordin, the president of the FA of Singapore (FAS).
Singapore will be represented by the NFA Under-15 and the NFA Under-16 teams. The six teams will be grouped into two groups of three teams and will play in a single round robin format. The top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals.
