YANGON (21 March 2015) – IT was a week of contrasting fortunes for Myanmar football this week as two of their teams recorded a win and a loss in the two friendlies that was played.
While the Under-20 team scored a comprehensive 3-0 beating of the Malaysian U22 side, the Myanmar U23 squad fell to a 1-0 loss to their Thai counterparts.
The Malaysians who had recently win the Bhanghbandhu Cup in Bangladesh, were clearly no match for the speedy Myanmar youth side as the home team struck through Than Paing in the 14th minute, Kyaw Min Oo (43rd) and Aung Thu (50th).
In the meantime, the Myanmar U23 team just could not find their way through the Thai U23 as the latter scored a 1-0 victory off a first-half strike.
