PHNOM PENH (24 Feb, 2008) – The Cambodian national team put up a good fight but in the end just could not resist Ulsan Hyundai FC when they conceded a 3-2 loss to the visiting Korean side recently.
The Cambodian national team are taking an earnest approach towards the Asean Football Championship qualifiers where they will be playing host at the end of the year. In the match that was played at the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh, the Hyundai side took a 1-0 lead at the break off Park Won Hong in the 32nd minute. They then added further goals in the second half off Kim Seong Min in the 62nd minute and Jeon Jong Hoon two minutes later for a comfortable lead. Witnessed by more than 7,000 spectators in attendance, the Cambodian national side managed to give their fans something to cheer about with two late goals. In Vichhika was the hero of the day when he scored a brace with goals in the 88th minute and 92nd minute. |
