BANGKOK (Jan 6, 2008) – Leaders Cat Telecom cut it real close in their Thailand Futsal League match yesterday when they had to fight tooth and nail before being able to overcome Suratthani Lightning Shrimp 7-4.
Suratthani deservedly took the lead in the fourth minute off Wiwat Sriyanon before Surachai Boonrach slammed home the second a minute later. But sustained pressure in the closing stages of the first half allowed Cat Telecom to claw back for a 2-2 at the break off Narongsak Kongkeaw (ninth minute) and Rogerio Moreira in the 14th minute. Growing in confidence, Cat Telecom scored two further goals within a space of just one minute from Moreira and then Thai international striker Anucha Munjareon for the 4-2 lead. Kittipong Potichai and Wiwat then restored parity for Suratthani with goals in the 26th and 28th minute respectively. But the game was destined to be in the hands of Cat Telecom when Anucha grabbed his second goal of the afternoon before two further goals from Kiattiyos Chaleamkhet completed the win and the three points for the leaders. TOT need not have to suffer such drama in their match when they made sure of the points with a 4-2 win over RBAC with goals coming off Ulid Rassanakarn (sixth minute), Panomkorn Saisorn (24th), Nattawut Kongnimitr (32nd) and Siriroj Panyateerawong (33rd). The match between Port Authority of Thailand and Samutprakarn Futsal Club was a real scorcher which ended with a 6-2 scoreline in favour of Port Authority. Port Authority made sure of the points with goals off Charnyuth Muangchan (13th minute), Wuttichai Tintawee (22nd and 24th), Ukrit Tangtung (29th), Suchin Eiamsaard (30th) and Tanakorn Santanaprasit (37th). Tossapol Kamkem scored a brace for Samutprakarn Futsal Club with goals in the 32nd and 35th minute. Elsewhere, saw Nonthaburi overcoming Royal Thai Navy 4-3, Bangkok beating Nakhonratchasima 5-2, Chonburi Bluewave edging Sripatum University 7-6. |
