The game was fairly even in the opening quarter before Sharil Ishak opened account to allow Singapore to take a 2-0 lead off a second goal from Fawaz Nazrul with a minute left to the break.

Fawaz then grabbed his first hat-trick in the competition with goals in the 52nd and 56th minute before Agu Casmir completed the rout with the fifth and final goal in the 79th minute.
