PHNOM PENH (31 May 2013) – Senate were at the wrong end of the pitch this week when they found themselves being thumped 12-0 by former champions Naga Corp FC with Chuon Chum grabbing a personal best with five goals.
Chuon was on target in the 20th, 30th, 52nd, 88th (penalty) and 90th minute as Tiep Wadhanak (4th and 75th), Prak Chanratana (54th), Z. Gbayoro Anderson (70th), Sun Sovanrithy (80th) and Chhim Sambo (85th) added the others for the goal feast.
With the win, Naga Corp moved up to third in the standings behind leaders Boeung Ket Rubber Field and second-placed Svay Rieng, whom this week were held to a 2-2 draw by Kirivong Sok Sen Chey FC.
It was Kirivong who broke the first-half deadlock with the opener through Ek Vannak just five minutes after the restart. Savorn Ratanak Visar then doubled the lead for Kirivong with the second goal on 69 minute.
But Svay Rieng fought back with two goals off Sok Sithy (70th minute and Khoun Laboravy (78th) for both teams to share the spoils.
