BANGKOK (24 March 2009) – Chonburi Bluewave take over at the top of the Thai Futsal League 2009 this week when they thrashed Nonthaburi 9-0 as Jetsada Chudej of Royal Thai Navy single-handedly destroyed former leaders Suratthani Lightning Shrimp 8-5.
With the talent available on their side, Chonburi were in a class of their own as Thai international Panuwat Janta led the goal fest with the opening goal in the fourth minute. From then on, there was little to trouble Chonburi as they went on a rampage to score at will through Supawut Thueanklang (10th and 26th minute), Keatiyot Chalemkhet (19th), Anucha Munjarern (24th), Kritsada Wongkeaw (27th and 40th), Panomkorn Saisorn (35th) and Ekapong Suratsawang (37th). In the meantime Suratthani lost their place at the top of the standings when they succumbed to an 8-5 defeat to Royal Thai Navy. What made the win fabulous for Royal Thai Navy was the fact that six of their goals were scored by a single player – Jetsada Chudej. Jetsada made sure of the win for Royal Thai Navy with goals in the fifth, 15th, 20th, 24th, 40th and 41st as team mate Wisawat Saeheng added the other goals in the 6th and 23rd minute. With the defeat, Suratthani have not only lost their place at the top of the table but they have also slipped to third in the standings – behind new leaders Chonburi and second-placed I Am Sport. I Am Sport improved to second following their close 4-3 win over defending champions Port Authority of Thailand.
