BANGKOK (2 April 2009) – On a day when former leaders Chonburi Bluewave bounced back from their weekend defeat to edge Rattana Bundit 7-3, new leaders I AM Sport continued on their winning form to score another win – this time with a clear 4-1 thrashing of Bangkok.
Chonburi, who slipped to a 6-4 defeat at the hands of TOT FC in their previous match, stepped up their game to take a 3-1 lead against Rattana at the half with goals from Panomkorn Saisorn in the second minute, Supawut Thueanklang in the third minute and Kritsada Wongkeaw in the 10th minute. The only goal from Rattana Bundit in the first half came from Kitsanupong Yuchomwong in the 17th minute. Twins Ekapan and Ekapong Suratsawang made all the difference after the break when they put Chonburi comfortably in front with two goals in the 26th and 36th minute. Supawut Thueanklang then put the game beyond Rattana Bundit’s reach with two further goals in the 38th and 39th minute. Rattana Bundit grabbed their two other goals through Terapong Boonrawd in the 30th minute and Marut Piakayklong a minute to the end. In the meantime Bangkok found themselves at the wrong end of their tie against I AM Sport when the latter took a 1-0 lead at the half through Francisco Jackson’s eighth minute strike. I AM Sport then scored the remainder of their goals in the second half from Tum Timmanon (22nd minute), Kitipol Ekjit (30th) and the second from Francisco deep in injury time. Bangkok scored their consolation goal off Arif Ahama in the 37th minute. |
