SINGAPORE (Jan 10, 2007) – Singapore’s drive to make the S-League as one of the best in the region received further boost with the inclusion of a team each from China and South Korea.
Following the recent pull-out of Sporting Afrique FC, it was announced that Korean Super Reds FC (from South Korea) and Liaoning Guangyuan FC (from China) have signed up for the new 2007 season. The only other foreign club in the 12-team professional Singapore league is Albirex Niigata (in white in pic) from Japan. Singapore Armed Forces FC (SAFFC) is the defending champions while Tampines Rovers is the Singapore Cup holders – both teams will be playing in the AFC Cup 2007. |
