PETALING JAYA (3 Jan 2022) – Tan Cheng Hoe has decided to resign from his position as the head coach of the Malaysian national team.
Cheng Hoe had held discussions with the FAM management and expressed his intention following the failure of his squad to advance to the semi-finals of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2020 in Singapore, recently.
The FAM management respected Cheng Hoe’s decision with both parties to part ways on mutual agreement.
Cheng Hoe has been with FAM for a total of 14 years.
Among his successes were helping Malaysia win the 2009 SEA Games gold medal and winning the 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup when he was an assistant to Datuk K. Rajagobal and the 2018 AFF Suzuki Cup runners-up as the head coach.
