JAKARTA (25 July 2013) – The Indonesia All-Stars were ripped to an 8-1 thrashing by English Premier League side Chelsea at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium tonight.
As compared to their only 2-0 loss to Liverpool FC the previous week (under Jacksen Tiago), this time round the team under Rahmad Darmawan simply did not have the answer against a marauding Chelsea side in Jakarta.
The Indonesian All-Stars fell to an early 22nd minute penalty from Eden Hazard as Brazilian Ramires then added the second goal right at the half hour mark. Two minutes later, Demba Ba scored the third goal as Chelsea then walked off for the break comfortable at 4-0 following John Terry’s strike.
Jose Mourinho’s side was relentless into the second half as they piled further goals from Bertrand Traore (51st minute), Romelu Lukaku (52nd and 66th) and Ramires (57th).
An own goal in the 69th minute off Tomas Kalas gave the Indonesian fans at least a reason to celebrate.
