BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (27 May 2015) – Chelsea Academy forward Faiq HRH Prince Jefri Bolkiah will be looked upon to provide much of the firepower for Brunei when they open their campaign in Group B of the SEA Games on 29 May at the Bishan Stadium.
Brunei will take on Vietnam in the opening game of the men’s football event (kick off at 1600hrs) before Laos entertain defending champions Thailand in the second game of the day.
“I believe we will be able to give a good fight because we have quite a strong team now, especially with the addition of Faiq also three DPMM FC players,” said Brunei U23 team manager Mohd Amirrizal Mahmud.
The three players from DPMM FC are Azwan Ali Rahman, Aminuddin Zakwan Md Tahir and Yura Yunos.
“These players will give us a lot of options especially in the attack and for Faiq, with his experience playing with at the Chelsea Academy, it is a big bonus for us,” he added.
“We have Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Timor Leste and Laos in the group, and these are strong teams. From what I know, they have prepared well for this tournament.”
