BANGKOK (19 July 2019) – Fourteen-time champions of ASEAN Futsal Thailand have been placed in an easier Group A of the AFF Futsal Championship 2019 following the draw this week.
The Thais are in Group A against Myanmar, Timor Leste and Cambodia while Group B will see heavyweights Vietnam battling against Malaysia, Indonesia and Australia.
Thailand have won the title 14 times out of 15 editions of the annual championship with Indonesia the only other country to have won it in 2010.
The 2019 edition of the AFF Futsal Championship slated for 21-27 October in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam also being used as the official qualifier for the AFC Futsal Championship 2020.
The top three teams from the AFF Futsal Championship 2019 will make the cut for the AFC Futsal Championship in Turkmenistan in 2020.
