BANGKOK (9 August 2010) – Defending champions Muang Thong United maintained their five-point lead at the top of the Thai Premier League following their close 1-0 win over Thai Port FC 1-0 at the Yamaha Stadium.
A late strike by Teerathep Wino Thai – in his last match before being transferred to BEC Tero Sasana – was enough to give Muang Thong the full three points. Although they controlled possession, Muang Thong had to work hard to break down a stubborn Port defence with the goal finally coming in five minutes to the end. Elsewhere, Osotspa M-150 were held to a 0-0 draw by visiting BEC Tero at the Saraburi Stadium. CURRENT THAI PREMIER LEAGUE STANDINGS 1. Muang Thong United 45pts (+35) 2. Chonburi FC 40pts (+22) 3.
