BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (10 April 2014) – A thumping 5-0 win this week has allowed defending champions Indera SC to move up to the summit of the DST Super League as the only unbeaten side after five matches.
In the match that was played at the Berakas Sports Complex, a hapless Wijaya FC side simply had no answer to a marauding Indera side who opened account in the very first minute of play through Mohd Zulkhairy Razali.
As Wijaya then tightened up their defence, it took Indera up until the 28th minute before they were able to score the second goal of the game off Reduan Petara.
With the 2-0 advantage at the half, Indera then stepped on the gas for Abd Khair Basri to get his name on the scoresheet in the 68th minute as Muhd Nur Ikhwan Othman then made it four in the 77th minute.
Md Khairul Anwar Abd Rahim then rounded off a fine evening for Indera with the fifth goal of the game, three minutes to the end.
With the full points, Indera have picked up 16 points from six matches played to be the only unbeaten team in the league.
“Another reason why Indera now top the league for the first time this season is because, compared to last year, we actually have a larger squad now,” said Omar Jamil.
“We are glad we’re in this position, but there’s no guarantee that even if we did well in our last match we’d perform the same in our next.”
