HANOI (23 July 2012) – With just four games to go to the end of the 2012 season, the challenge at the top of the V-League would be on teams to maintain their composure to the finish line.
And this week, all three teams – SHB Da Nang, Hanoi T&T and Sàigòn Xuân Thành – kept up the pressure by picking up the full points against their respective opponents.
SHB Da Nang kept their place at the top after beating Becamex Binh Duong 1-0 at the Chi Lang Stadium with the only goal of the game three minutes to the end off a header from Nicolas Hernandez.
With the win, SHB Da Nang have picked up 44 points from 22 games, just two points ahead of second-placed Hanoi T&T and six points ahead of Saigon Xuan Thanh (SGXT) on third.
Hanoi T&T overcame Vicem Hai Phong 2-0 while SXGT blasted Dong Thap Rubber Corporation 4-0 at the Cao Lanh Stadium.
Elsewhere, Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA) beat Kien Giang 3-0 at the Kien Giang Stadium goals from Hughton Hector (9th minute), Hoang Van Binh (28th) and Dickson Nwakaeme (90th).
Navibank Saigon beat Khatoco Khanh Hoa at the Thong Nhat Stadium, The Vissai Ninh Binh edged Hoang Anh Gia Lai 2-1 as Hanoi Football Club defeated Thanh Hoa with the same score line.
