MANILA (1 June 2018) – Ceres Negros FC strengthened their position at the top of the Philippine Football League (PFL) 2018 when they blasted Stallion Laguna 6-2 at the Biñan Football Stadium.
The win for the defending champions has allowed them the chance to open up a five point lead at the top of the table over second-placed Kaya Iloilo FC.
This even though Ceres have played just nine matches in the new season as compared to Kaya’s ten games played.
Ceres were 2-0 inside of the first ten minutes off goals from Patrick Reichelt and OJ Porteria.
Mike Ott made the score sheet on 53 minute as own goal from Stallion’s Jason Cordova’s in the 57th minute put them further in front while Kevin Ingreso and Porteria’s second goal gave Ceres a commanding 6-0 lead.
Stallion managed to pull two goals back from Abou Sy and Fitch Arboleda in the 72nd and 76th minute respectively. But that was to be the last of their revival as the score remained to the end.
