Despite being held to a scoreless draw by Masbate in their final Group A match at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Mansilingan, Bacolod City, Ceres-Negros Selection still win the group with seven points from two wins and a draw.
“Though we topped the group, I wasn’t happy with the outcome of our last game. The boys lost focus and it was our worst performance in the quarterfinals. We had many clear attempts, but we failed to convert,” said Norman Fegidero, the chief coach of Negros.
“I have to give credit to Masbate. They prepared well for us, especially on their counter-attacks.
“For the semi-finals, we have to be more prepared and make some adjustments, if necessary.”
The other to make the semi-finals from Group A is National Capital Region (NCR) Team B who blasted Dipolog 6-0 in their final group game.
