BANGKOK (18 May 2009) – A 5-2 win over defending champions Port Authority of Thailand has allowed CAT Telecom to maintain their hold of the Thai Futsal League 2009 for yet another week.
CAT Telecom, who have taken over the rein from Chonburi Bluewave since early this month, made sure of the three points with the first goal off Guilherme Da Silva in the sixth minute before an own goal from Werayut Taveekun in the 15th minute allowed them to go 2-0 up. A minute later, Da Silva made it three goals to nothing to CAT Telecom’s advantage before Ukrit Teangtang pulled a goal back for Port Authority in the 17th minute for a 3-1 scoreline. CAT Telecom then added two further goals from Tananchai Chomboon (23rd and 39th minute) as Port Authority then scored their final goal of the game through Wutichai Thintavee two minutes to the end. In the meantime, Chonburi’s hopes of closing in on the leaders fell a little short when they were held to a 3-3 draw by TOT FC. Despite taking a 3-0 lead at the half with goals from Supawut Thueanklang (9th minute), Ekapong Suratsawang (17th) and Kritsada Wongkeaw (19th), they allowed TOT to steal the one point when the visitors scored three goals after the breather. TOT’s goals were scored by Haji Mahdi Hamed (29th minute), Daycha Sangdee (33rd) and Ulit Rosanakarn (38th). I AM Sport scored the biggest win of the weekend with their 9-4 thrashing of Royal Thai Navy. |
