PHNOM PENH (9 Oct 2011) – Cambodia opened their campaign in the BIDC Cup with a 2-0 win over ASEAN neighbour Laos in the match that was played at the National Olympic Stadium.
In front of more than 30,000 fans, the home team nailed the opener in the 22nd minute off Phourng Soksana before adding their second goal of the game from veteran Khuon Laboravy five minutes to the end.
In the other match, Vietnam held China to a 1-1 draw.
