CAMBODIA FAIL TO QUALIFY FOR AFC CHALLENGE CUP

PHNOM PENH (27 May 2008) – Cambodia failed to make the main draw of the AFC Challenge Cup when they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Nepal in the crucial game of the qualifiers which was played at the National Olympic Stadium.

A solitary strike from Ju Manu Rai in the 44th minute was enough for Nepal to edge the homesters for the win.

An earlier 3-2 win over Macau has given Nepal the full six points from two matches as they look to playing in the main draw of the AFC Challenge Cup later in the year.

Cambodia in the meantime will complete the fixture with the game against Macau tomorrow.
