BANGKOK (13 Jan 2012) – Buriram PEA completed the grand double when they won the FA Cup to add to the Thai Premier League (TPL) 2011 crown they won earlier.
The northeast side beat Muang Thong United 1-0 after extra time in the final last night at the Supachalasai Stadium.
Frank Acheampong scored the only goal in the game in the 108th minute for Buriram to pick up the BHT 3million (USD 95,000) prize money. As runners-up, Muang Thong won BHT 500,000 (USD 16,000).
But Buriram might yet finish the season with the treble when they take on Thai Port FC in the League Cup final next month.
