BANGKOK (27 July 2012) – As defending champions Buriram United lost pace at the top of the Thai Premier League (TPL), Thai international Teerasil Dangda made the difference on the day as his lone strike gave Thai Premier League (TPL) leaders SCG Muang Thong United a precious 1-0 win over Samut Songkhram FC.
In the first round matches of the second half of the TPL season, Teerasil struck the winner in the 57th minute of play as Muang Thong picked up another three points for a total of 44 points after 18 games.
Chonburi FC – who blasted BEC Tero Sasana 3-0 at home off goals from Pipob On-mo (59th minute), Sukree Etae (78th) and Fode Diakite (89th)
– remained second with 39 points.
Buriram United failed to improve on their third-placed position following their poor 2-2 home draw with Esan United. Buriram are now 12 points behind SCG.
Elsewhere, Osotspa M-150 Saraburi beat Chainat FC 2-1 at the Saraburi Stadium, BB-CU beat TOT SC 3-2 at the Rajamangala Stadium while Insee Police United drew 1-1 with Chiang Rai United at the Thammasat Stadium.
Pattaya United drew 2-2 with TTM Chiang Mai, Army United held Bangkok Glass to a scoreless draw as Wuachon United also drew 0-0 with Thai Port.
