BANGKOK (27 May 2013) – Former champions Buriram United kept up the pressure at the top of the Thai Premier League 2013 when they beat Army United 3-0 at the I-Mobile Stadium.
Carmelo Gonzalez gave Buriram the lead after just 22 minutes before Osmar Ibanez doubled the lead for the homesters three minutes later. An own goal from Army’s Chaiwat Nakeim completed the rout for Buriram.
With the three points, Buriram remained on second in the TPL with 27 points from 11 matches. Leaders Muang Thong United are on 31 points but having played a game more than their fierce rival.
In the meantime, Muang Thong United recorded a close 2-1 win over ten-men Samut Songkhram, who had Pattana Sokjorhor sent off in the second half.
The Kirins scored through Phichitphong Chouichiu and also Sarawut Masuk before Samut Songkhram pulled a goal back off Guy Hubert right at the end.
Elsewhere, Chainat beat Pattaya United 4-2 at the Khao Plong Stadium, Suphanburi beat TOT SC 3-1 and Bangkok Glass overcame Bangkok United 3-1.
