BANGKOK (13 Nov 2013) – Ambitious Buriram United are just a crown short of the treble after scooping up the FA Cup this weekend to add to the Thai Premier League (TPL) title she won recently.
The north-eastern club picked up their third FA Cup in three years when they came back from a goal down to beat Bangkok Glass F 3-1.
In the match that was played at the Thammasat Stadium, it was Bangkok Glass who went ahead in the 17th minute through Chatree Chimtalay off a through pass from Supasek Kaikaew.
But a penalty for Buriram in the 32nd minute would turn the game on its head when Spanish defender Osmar Ibanez converted it to put both teams on level terms.
In the 54th minute, Buriram took the lead when Carmelo Gonzalez headed home a Suchao Nutnum cross as Kai Hirano then made it 3-1 when he turned in a cross from Gonzalez six minutes later.
Buriram will take on Ratchaburi in the League Cup final in ten days.
