BANGKOK (8 April 2011) – Buriram PEA continued their winning form in the Thai Premier League 2011 when they beat Bangkok Glass to maintain their position at the top of the table.
Playing at the Leo Stadium, Buriram dominated for long periods in the game through strike duo Franck Ohandza of Cameroon and Ghana’s Frank Acheampong but they were unable to find the back of the net as they score stayed unchange till the end of the first half.
The first goal for Buriram came only in the 72nd minute off Sarif Sainui before Kirati Keawsombut then secured all three points eight minutes later.
In the meantime, BEC Tero Sasana moved up to second at the table with a comfortable 3-1 win over Chiang Rai United at the Thephatsadin Stadium.
Teerathep Winothai nailed a brace with goals in the second and 13th minutes as Ronnachai Rangsiyo netted the other goal in the 45th minute.
The visitors got their only goal of the game from Wasant Natasant on 62 minutes.
Third at the table is Chonburi FC following their 2-2 home draw against SCG Samut Songkhram – with defender Chonlatit Jantakam coming to the rescue of the home side with a late equaliser.
Ekaphan Inthasen had given Chonburi the lead in the 51st minute of play but SCG scored twice through Chokelarp Nilsang (55th minute) and Thana Sriphandorn (68th) for the lead.
Defending champions Muang Thong United picked up their second win in two games when they thrashed TTM FC Phichit 3-0 at the Yamaha Stadium.
Christian Kouakou was on target in the 23rd minute before international Datsakorn Thonglao added two more goals aftert the break.
In the other matches, TOT SC beat Thai Port FC 1-0 with the only goal in the game coming in the 59th minute off Vicharn Nantasri while Insee Police United were held to a 2-2 draw by Si Sa Ket at the Thammasat Rangsit Stadium.
