BANGKOK (8 Aug 2011) – Leaders Buriram PEA stretched to an eight-point lead as defending champions Muang Thong United improved to second in the Thai Premier League 2011.
At the At I-Mobile Stadium, Buriram overcame Khon Kaen 2-0 with Jakkraphan Kaewprom scoring the lead after just 14 minutes before international Suchao Nutnum then added the second goal in the 28th minute.
For Muang Thong, they beat Thai Port FC 3-0 at the PAT Stadium, taking advantage of a red card on Thai Port’s Siwakorn Jaksuprasart for a second bookable offence for tripping Jakkraphan Pornsai.
Piyaphon Buntao broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute with a low drive before adding the second just a minute later.
Christian Kouakou then wrapped things up with a left-footer a minute to the end.
Elsewhere, Osotspa M-150 defeated Pattaya United 2-1 at the Saraburi Stadium with two goals from Suradej Thongchai (56th minute) and Katano Hiromishi (82nd minute) erasing Pattaya’s earlier lead off an own goal from Pathum Chuthong in the 40th minute.
At the Army Stadium, Army United drew 1-1 with Bangkok Glass while Sri Racha also battled to a 1-1 draw against Si Sa Ket FC at the Sri Racha Stadium.
