BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (10 March 2012) – Brunei were crowned the Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy 2012 when they beat Indonesia 2-0 in the final that was played at the Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium last night.
In front of more than 26,000 screaming fans, both Brunei and Indonesia showed splendid display of attacking football to entertain the spectators that also included His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Brunei Crown Prince Al Muhtadee Billah as well as other members of the Brunei royal family.
The score at the end of the first half was 0-0.
But the pep talk at the half prodded Brunei into action when they took the lead just two minutes into the second half off Mohd Aminuddin Zakwan Tahir. Striker Adi Said then wrapped things up with the second goal of the game in the 76th minute to bring his final goal tally in the competition to five goals.
