BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (11 April 2015) – Despite losses in all matches at the recent AFC U23 qualifiers, Brunei are still confident heading into the SEA Games in Brunei in June.
Head coach Stephen Ng said that the recent AFC qualifiers in Jakarta gave the team invaluable lessons against the likes of South Korea, Indonesia and also Timor Leste.
“It was a very good experience for the boys as it was the first time for some of them playing outside of Brunei,” said Stephen.
“I thought the team did fairly well. The last two matches were close but it was unfortunate we couldn’t get the results we wanted.
“It is an eye-opener for the first timers, especially against a team like South Korea.”
The young Brunei squad play in the DST Super League.
