BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (23 Sept 2012) – Brunei have confirmed a match against Indonesia in three days that will be played at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.
Following a lackluster performance in their recent tour of Malaysia, the Sultanate side has forged their team further with a handful of players from their only professional club DPMM FC that is playing in the Singapore S-League.
“The aim of organising this friendly match is to help the national squad prepare for the AFF Suzuki Cup qualifiers and also to give football fans in the Sultanate, including the Indonesian fans, the opportunity to come and watch their national football teams in action,” said Mohd Noor Abdullah, the general secretary of the National FA of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD.
Brunei are making a return to the AFF Suzuki Cup qualifiers where they will be up against hosts Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and Timor Leste which has been slated for 5-13 October 2012.
