KOTA BARU (9 Sept 2012) – Brunei held starless Kelantan 1-1 in the fourth and final tie of their tour of Malaysia as the team look to whittle their challenge for the qualifying round of the AFF Suzuki Cup in Myanmar next month.
With the draw, the Sultanate side completed their four match series with two wins (beating a side from the ATM 4-1 and then 1-0 victory over UiTM), one draw and one loss (4-1 against Harimau Muda).
In the match that was played at the Sultan Mohammad IV Stadium last night, the homesters, who were without a handful of regulars, went ahead in the 20th minute through 19-year-old Ghanaian striker Denni Agyari Antwi.
Brunei then replied in the 38th minute from Azri Zahari’s header. The Bruneians, who are making a return to the AFF Suzuki Cup fold, will be playing in the qualifiers against hosts Myannar, Laos, Cambodia and Timor Leste on 5-13 September 2012.
