BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (6 Sept 2012) – Brunei could not make it three in a row in their tour of Malaysia when they fell to a 4-1 loss to Harimau Muda in the third of their four-match friendly series.
The team which had scored two wins out of two in their first two matches – a 4-1 victory against a side from the ATM and then a 1-0 win over UiTM – conceded the first goal of the game just eight minutes in.
After the early strike from Tamil Arasu, the young Malaysians then nailed their second goal off Wan Zaharul Nizam in the 18th minute before Brunei replied with their only goal of the game through Mohd Julremi Hj Zaini two minutes before the break.
But the homesters completed their win with goals from S. Sarvindran in the 63rd minute and then another from Ferris Danial.
Brunei, who will take part in the qualifying round of the AFF Suzuki Cup next month in Yangon, will take on Malaysian Super League champions Kelantan at the Sultan Muhammad IV stadium in Kota Bharu in two days.
For Harimau Muda, they will be taking part in the SCTV Cup on 9 September 2012 in Jakarta.
