HANOI (17 April 2009) – Boss Paint have just become the latest sponsor of the Vietnam national football team which recently lifted the AFF Suzuki Cup 2008.
Boss Paint will pay VND2.1 billion (USD 117,000) to have their name on the national team jersey for one year. The deal with Boss Paint follow the USD 5 million, five-year contract with Nike and also a one-year agreement with Yamaha (USD 120,000) and Huu Lien A Chau (USD 55,600). Boss Paint had previously been sponsor of Binh Dinh club in the V-League 2008 and the Golden Ball 2008 awards. In the meantime, Vietnam national coach Henrique Calisto confirmed that former Vietnam international Nguyen Duc Thang, will be one of his assistants. “Duc Thang is a young, capable, enthusiastic coach who can speak English well. I’ve also known him for a long time,” said Calisto. Other than Duc Thang, the other coaches in the national squad are Ngo Le Bang, Tran Van Khanh and Phan Thanh Hung. Duc Thang left competitive football in 2005 at a relatively young age of 29-years-old where he started his coaching career with the U12 team of The Cong Club. The Vietnam national team are preparing for a friendly against Greek club Olympiakos in early May. |
