BOAZ UP AGAINST SAMSUL FOR TOP STRIKER AWARD

JAKARTA (4 April 2009) – Persipura Jayapura forward Boaz Solossa is up against Samsul Arif from Persibo Bojonegoro for the top striker award in the Bintang Emas Copa Dji Sam Soe Indonesia 2008/2009.

The award which is conducted through SMS saw Boaz (pic) – who have scored eight goals thus far in the competition – and Samsul occupying the top two spots respectively with Budi Sudarsono from Sriwijaya FC on third.

Samsul have been instrumental in leading Persibo into the final 16 teams of the Copa Dji Sam Soe and where it is expected that his side will be able to get the better of two Indonesia Super League sides – Arema Malang and Pelita Jaya Jabar – for a place in the final eight.

Apart from getting noticed for the Best Striker award, Shamsul has also been drawing votes for the Best Rising Star category.

The candidates for the Bintang Emas Copa Dji Sam Soe Indonesia 2008/2009 were shortlisted by the Indonesian media.
