BINH DINH TO HOST U21 MEET

HANOI (6 June 2008) – Club Binh Dinh have been selected by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) to replace Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA) to host the 12th Thanh Nien (Young People) Under-21s Cup tournament in September.

The move follows the decision by the VFF to bar matches from being played at SLNA’s Vinh Stadium after crowd violence in a recent league match on 25 May which resulted in the death of one fan and several others being injured.

The decision means Binh Dinh FC, located on the central coast, will not have to play in the qualifying rounds.

SLNA, on the other hand, will now replace Binh Dinh in group C, where they will play at Da Nang’s Chi Lang Stadium.
