YANGON (14 April 2010) – Yangon United scored the biggest win of the Myanmar National League 2010 thus far when they shred Magway 7-0 in the match that was played at the National Youth Training Centre.
Eric Sackey nailed four goals for Yangon with strikes in the 28th, 46th, 52nd and 82nd minute as Elisangelo, Htay Aung and Kyaw Thura scored the other goals in the 3rd, 6th and 45th minute respectively. But the game was marred by four Magway players who were red-carded. It was not only Yangon United who were the big winners on the day as Naypyitaw were also firing on all cylinders with a 6-0 thrashing of Zwekapin for their first win of the season. Arouna of Cameroon started the afternoon rolling with the first goal of the game on third minute and from there Naypyitaw did not look back as Arouna nailed the other goals in the 71st, 83rd and 90th minute. The remaining goals for Naypyitaw were scored by Joezack (4th and 60th minute) and Nay Aung (31st minute). In the other matches, Kanbawza beat Manaw Myay 2-0 with goals from Sa Htet Naing Win in the second minute and Aye San in the 51st minute while league leaders Zeyar Shwe Myay edged out Delta United with the slimmest of 1-0 margin. The only goal in the game came off Korean import Jeong Seen Bi who found the back of the net some six minutes to the end to ensure that Zeyar Shwe Myay maintain their perfect record in the MNL this season. Elsewhere, Yadanarbon tipped off Southern Myanmar 3-1. Yan Paing had given Yadanarbon the lead on six minute but Frank Seter found the equalizer for Southern Myanmar just two minutes after the restart. But Yan Paing could not be denied and he capped his wonderful afternoon with a double with the second goal on 68th minute before Compaore completed the scoreline deep in injury time.
