PHNOM PENH (March 14, 2007) – Phnom Penh Empire FC scored the biggest win in the Samdach Hun Sen Cup 2007 when they blasted Intry Bopea FC 12-1 in the match which was played at the Olympic Stadium.
Hok Sochivan and former Cambodian international Hok Sochitra was the hero for Empire FC when they scored a total of eight goals between them with Intry Bopea FC scoring only once through Lao Sopheap in the 76th minute. Sochivan made sure that victory belongs to Empire FC with goals in the 55th, 62nd, 74th, 82nd and 85th minute while for the veteran Sochitra he nailed his hat-trick with goals in the 8th, 31st and 55th minute. The other scorers for Empire FC were Chin Chum (23rd and 26th minute), Ek Sovannara (38th) and Chim Rathanak (61st). The next big win in the quarter-finals came from Royal Cambodian Armed Forces FC who blasted Spark FC 4-1 at the same venue. At the halfway mark, the score was 2-1 in favour of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces FC with Sin Dalin nailing a brace in the 26th minute and 40th minute while Spark FC scored their only goal of the tie through Chhim Yeak in the 38th minute. The army men then shifted a gear after the break for Khim Borey and Va Seth to score in the 82nd and 90th minute respectively for the well-deserved victory.
