JAKARTA (4 March 2015) – Following the postponement of the Indonesia Super League 2015 where it has also affected plans to bring in a new coach for the national side, Benny Dollo has been given the task as the interim coach.
Incidentally, it will be Benny’s third stint handling the national side after being put in charge in 2000-2001 and also 2008-2010.
Benny is currently the head coach of Sriwijaya FC (SFC) playing in the ISL.
“We have not been able to sign a new foreign coach for the national side due to obvious reasons,” said Joko Driyono, the general secretary of the FA of Indonesia (PSSI).
“But this plan (having Benny in charge) is good which is in tandem with the views of the Indonesia National Team Management and also the Technical Director.”
The Indonesian national side will play several friendlies at the end of the month.
