BANGKOK (5 May 2014) – BEC Tero Sasana took advantage of a slip up from leaders Muang Thong United to take over the top spot in the Thai Premier League (TPL) 2014 following their 3-2 win over Chainat.
Following a 2-2 draw, Georgie Welcome scored the winner for BEC Tero Sasana to move up to the top of the table on the same 23 points with Muang Thong but on a superior goal difference.
Muang Thong who were determined to rake up the points at home at the SCG Stadium, were served with a surprise by Suphanburi when the
visitors walked away with a 5-2 victory.
Elsewhere, defending champions Buriram United marched on for their second win in two matches, with a 2-0 win over Air Force as Chiang Rai edged Si Sa Ket 1-0 and Songkhla thumping Police 4-2.
Bangkok United then beat Bangkok Glass 1-0.
