BANGKOK (27 Nov 2011) – Muang Thong United’s hope of closing in on current Thai Premier League leaders Buriram PEA were dashed this week when they were denied the full points by a resolute BEC Tero Sasana to a 2-2 draw.
With just the one point, Muang Thong are now a full ten points behind Buriram with nine more matches left to the end of the Thai Premier League 2011 season.
In the match that was played at the Thephatsadin Stadium, Muang Thong grabbed the early lead through Dagno Siaka which BEC Tero only equalised in the 58th minute off Gilbert Koomson.
But just when Muang Thong thought that a second goal off Christian Kouakou would be enough for them to win the full points, Jakkrit Boonkhum came back for the visitors with a late equaliser deep in injury time.
In the other matches, hosts Sri Racha FC drew 1-1 with Osotspa M-150 at the Suzuki Stadium with Pipat Tonkaya cancelling Cristiano Lopez’s lead for Sri Racha late in the game.
At the Suphan Buri Stadium, Insee Police United were held scoreless by Pattaya United while the solitary strike from Mongkol Namnuad gave Thai Port FC a hard fought 1-0 win over Si Sa Ket FC.
