PHNOM PENH (August 6, 2007) – It was a downright beating for several home teams in the Cambodian League with the likes of Naga Corp FC and Royal Sword FC notching high scores in their respective league matches.
A stuttering start did not prevent Naga Corp FC to edge out Lion Squad FC 7-2 in the Cambodian Premier League at the Olympic National Stadium. But things almost did not pan out for Naga Corp when as early as the fifth minute; they found themselves falling behind to a strike from Seth Kamel. However , Naga were quick on the rebound to equalize off Cheuk Sokhom a minute later before Teap Vathanak added a hat-trick with goals in the 24th, 40th and 42nd minute for them to take a 4-1 lead at the halfway point. The second half was all Naga Corp when they added further misery on Lion Squad with goals from Eang Saknida (49th), Chin Chum (64th) and Ngeng Dipita Herve Ernest (75th). On the other hand, Royal Sword who had won their previous two matches in the Cambodian Second league had little difficulty on the road when they beat Phnom Pros FC 9-0 at the National Football Centre. Sam El Nasa was again the toast of Royal Sword FC with a personal tally of seven goals when he struck in the 11th, 20th, 31st, 58th, 60th, 63rd and 88th as Nuth Sinuon added two further goals in the 42nd and 45th minute. Mohaa Garuda FC were also on the rampage in the Cambodian Second League at the National Football Centre when they whitewashed Kandal Province FC 5-0. Despite a strong first-half showing, Kandal FC simply had no answer to Mohaa Garuda’s overwhelming superiority after the break as the floodgates opened for the visiting side to score almost at will off Kao Sok Ngon (55th and 62nd minute), Phin Phearan (65th), Pha Kolabotr (83rd) and Tith Chhay Leng (89th).
